The people who caused this largely don't pay taxes. They aren't going to get the bill, and they know it.

But they do vote, and they will continue to vote for the taxpayers to fund their antics.

It is a flaw of democracy if you allow non taxpayers a vote in how tax money is spent.

My dad use to say, "you break it, you fix it." Money is money, especially if your parents pay for your screw up.
