Anyone ever done a transfer TO someone in New Jersey?
I have a friend who is trying to acquire his FID that I'd like to (legally) give a shotty to. No rush on this just curious.

We knew this day would come. Today we were called by an investigator from Gov. Cuomo's Executive Order Task Force who ORDERED us to close, under threat of losing our business license and NY Dealer's license.
Trust me, I want to fight this, and there will be a day where we do, but for now we need to go home, hug our loved ones and take some time to regroup.
Thank you for all of your love and support.
Anything that has been ordered and is on its way CANNOT be picked up, we have no choice but to close entirely. We cannot open by appointment either.
We ask that no more online shipments be sent here, we cannot have staff here to receive them.

Just a follow up, my order got cancelled. Ffl told me NY state is handing out up to $10k fines through the health department if found open. He said a couple ffl has been busted.

I remember the "good ole days" when private transfers didnt require a government fee and a paper trail. Im sure there are good honest citizens that still believe in this system.

Interesting, because the original closure order language certainly seemed to exclude sole proprietor businesses. Wonder if the health department is fining other sole proprietor non gun selling places trying to stay afloat

I hope that some of the bigger gun stores sue the state when this is all over. Especially when the feds have said that retail gun sales are essential businesses
well, between my last posting and now, the local FFL i was using closed down until this was all over. I didnt even know until the place i ordered the lower thru put a hold on the order. they called the FFL when thy were shipping it, and found out he wasn't taking any more transfers. kinda screws me up as i have different parts coming from different places, and im not sure if i should cancel them all and wait or not.
back to square 1. Anyone know any kitchen table FFLs between westchseter and Albany who are still doing transfers? Thats about as far as i would drive.
Edit: he closed because he couldnt keep up. he was getting people from all over the state trying to use him.

Based on the updated guidance posted by the state this morning, the sole proprietor exemption language has been struck from the website.

Wishful thinking.
Let's face it,there's not a lot of profit in the gun business to begin with. No big box stores are going to care, and small FFLs don't have the financial wherewithal to fight the powers that be.
My county is pushing for a total lockdown. No hiking, no leaving the house, because they think that we're in a critical point with a whopping five people in the hospital. Hey, let's lock 100000 people down because five people are in the hospital, 100 tested positive and noone has died. They're insane. We should be talking about opening things up, not additional restrictions

The current posting from NYS Empire State Development dated today at 1530hrs. says, under guidance for essential business, that essential retail includes:
I read that as meaning the gun shop may be a non-essential retail business, but if you order something and have it sent to an FFL that has only one person running the show, that order can be filled / processed.

I think that is meant to apply to businesses filling orders placed online or on the phone.
Once they eliminated the sole proprietor exemption, I don't think that what you quoted would protect me as an FFL.
It's moot anyway. Our county is going to 100,% lockdown effective immediately, with only trips to the store or the doctor allowed. They're describing it as indefinite and at this point voluntary unless there is not enough cooperation,in which case they're going to consider punative measures. All because they think that we're at a tipping point with 100 positive test results, five hospitalizations and no deaths.
Just called them, hes stopped as well for now.
