Finally got my first Decent piece of glass.

Checked out the lgs today since they were running a sale for memorial day. wanted a red dot for my ar in .300 blk but i got convinced otherwise, mainly just by letting me hold it.
Got the Vortex crossfire II 1-4x v-brite and want to hear any experience people have had with it, i.e what to look out for and such.
Also ordered an Aero Precision mount for it from brownells once i got home but it's not coming for at least another week so hopefully that's a good solid mount.
Pictures will be posted once i have it all together. also any tips for mounting a scope, this will be my first one.

The Aero mount is one of the best, very straightforward, light, great design and workmanship, congrats.

The Aero Ultralight mount right? Good mount, but it's a pain in the ass to install since they're vertically split rings. When you tighten them it rotates the crosshairs, so it's tough to level them well. Not impossible, it just takes trial and error.

Thats good to know, i was a little worried seeing how much some of these single-piece mounts cost that it wasn't going to be that great. got it in FDE to match the mBUS that i have on there to, also picked up a new stock to go along with it since my magpul carbine is not as comfy as i'd like it to be.

Yeah. Once I got it set, mine has been rock solid.

I would think it's unnecessary, the mounts are designed to work without that. The only thing I used on my mount was non-permanent threadlocker for the screws.

Yeah i think i've exhausted every video and guide i could find for mounting scopes while i'm waiting for this mount to get here. Think im covered.

Oh another cool thing about the Aero Ultralight, I put it back on my rail yesterday and went to sight it in, and found it was still dead on after re-mounting and it's not even a QD mount!

That's awesome. I seem to be hearing nothing but good things about this mount.
