Finally got my hunting license for the year

Idk if it was the warm September or what, but I completely lost track of time this year and almost forgot to get my hunting license.

Oh well snagged up both my Buck and Two Doe tags, really need to invest in a decent muzzle loader to snag up a little extra time but haven't done that yet

I hunt in 8y and 7r one doe each

I’m sorry I don’t have time to find it right now, but the DEC has a great interactive map online finally that makes nailing down your DMP zone really easy. Last year I used it to finally find out that my state land spot is in 3M as opposed to 3R which makes the difference between a DMP every year or one every 3 years or so. Huge difference.

I’m lucky that most of my hunting is in 4F or 3M. I’ve so far always gotten 4F as my first pick and 3M is a guarantee either 1st or 2nd pick.

The interactive map works well once you figure it out, but it's a real pain in the ass to not only get to, but use.

Use the State Lands Interactive Mapper - NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation

You just have to activate the WMA Layer to show the borders. It's really easy now.

Never hunted 8M........ 8H-8N is tricky as ya cross route 5&20 near by pass LOL tagged a few wrong years back when bypass was built.

My 8M land (Conesus) is less than a mile from the 8N border, and my 8N's (Wayland and Italy Valley) are right ON the line. If you cross the road in either 8N spots, you're in a new WMU.

I got mine .. 1 8M , my buds sons first time 2 8m .. him 2 8m , wife 2 8m .. and just yesterday his mom and dad both 2 8m each . GRRRR least yr i had 2 on 8m and got skunked .. GRRR .. oh well i set them all up .. are freezers will be full

Well with opening day just around the corner I have started thinking of going with my AR15 build in 300blk vs using my K31. Trying to talk myself out of it as the k31 works great, just a tad heavy and I'm not a fan of the safety

Oh and I also got my mount back from last season
