Finally some good weather

So looking forward to today (sunday) finally going to get a chance to take the girlfriend to the range and get her learning to shoot.

Been together three years and we have gone from cant even touch a gun with out anxiety (long story. But she was never anti gun, hell even during that period she would yell at me if I was about to leave the house without my carry gun)

To she has no problem moving my carry gun from the coffee table (in holster) to the safe.

Now we are going to work on shooting, she's been wanting to learn for a while now, she is still not comfortable with really loud noises, we tried a .22lr and she passed on it.

But now that this weekend weather has taken a turn for the better I bought her a little spring powered BB gun (looks like a M9, she wanted the revolver but I said no we will for the next one, $20 vs $90) to get the fundamentals down and her used to some of the noise and work our way up

I would have preferred to start her out on a long gun bb gun, but she wanted to learn on a "handgun" so compromised and she got a "handgun" bb gun to start with

I worked my ass off Friday and yesterday. I spread 85 bags of mulch, cleaned up the yard and made a new raised bed. I have one raised bed left, have to get about 2 yards of top soil, and spread another 15 bad of mulch. I ran out of mulch and time. Not today though. I’m going for walks and fishing today.

Getting ready to list my house to sell . . . Ordered a dumpster and started cleaning out the basement and garage on Thursday . . . and Friday . . . and yesterday. Jeez I really hurt this morning. Haven't even started on the lawn or the beach yet.

Got a massive pile of (free) good wood chip mulch from my guy, I'm going to try to put a dent in it today.

I managed to tweak my back yesterday putting in some under cabinet lighting in my kitchen. So today I will be enjoying the weather with my outdoor comfy chair and a few beers followed with a grilled steak dinner.

Did that years ago, got rid of the mulch and put in decorative stone. Don't have to screw with it anymore. Screw that mulch!

tell her not to worry .. i'm 52 soon to be the 53 .. i still jump at loud noise .. friend shot his 12ga while i was loading my muzzle loader .. powder all over the place LOL .. good thing it was a inline and i could clear what powder made it in the gun LOL .. him and his wife were LOLing with tears LOL ..

So we got to the range today, put up a paper plate at about 7-10 yards give or take. She had trouble racking the slide as it was just some plastic junk toy and no real traction, and the grip was super big even for me so she didnt like how it felt in her hand.

But we got her to shoot a few BBs, she didn't think she would hit the plate at all, but was able to put 9 our of 10 BBs on the plate. She still flinched a lot hearing the spring release when the trigger was pulled but all in all it was a good day

just a thought .. even with BB gun .. foam ear plugs and ear muffs .. just get used to shooting .. forget the bang .. work that in later .. small centerfire cal if you reload .. some live .. some blanks .. or even 22lr .. load for her .. some live some empty chamber .. do a hit n miss .. few duds and then bang ..
this is what i want to do with my 270 win .. make some duds and have friend load it to get my flinching down some .. i only flinch at that range .. out hunting its not a problem .. dang drugs .. Adrenalin lol

Helped out my mom at my childhood home with some repairs on Saturday. She met my gf for the 1st time which went well. Sunday, i put a bugshield and exhaust tip on the truck. Looks nice. Enjoyed the rest of the day with the gf and my dog. Nice weather.

I put a temporary fence up to keep the dogs in line.
Its just one of those 14 gauge wire green fences that you pound the stakes in.
The dogs stand at it looking at me like," you know we can walk through this right?"

Dumpster cresting with crap. Finally got the old table saw out of the basement. SOB was heavy. Gonna get it into the tractor bucket and up into the dumpster tomorrow. Working with kitty litter to dry out sections of the basement. Tomorrow we scrub and vacuum. More crap into storage . . .
