Remember Moynihan? NY US Senator? He sponsored every freaking year, a bill calling for 30000% tax on ammo as he though 2nd Amendment was about guns and not the ammo. Glad he is dead.

^wondering the same? Especially the partial repeal bill. I know that has a snowballs chance in hell but has it made any progress or just stalled somewhere in the process?

I remember a family member who was in a gang back in the late 60's who threw a Molotov cocktail at a rival gang member at the height of the Vietnam War, it passed over his head and landed in front of a NY senator leaving a restaurant. It made national news, that youths protesting the war attempted to hit the senator. They laughed at the story they had no idea who the guy was and wasn't even the target .

We are a much, much, much softer society now.
If they literally come for our guns we will hear stories of a few guys fighting back and being killed by police.
The news will say the suspect of the assault on police was a very disturbed psycho who claimed to be a "patriot" or something silly like that.
Alot of guys talk, but very few will be a martyr.
Those who try to fight back WILL die.
Mass civil disobedience is the only option true patriots will have......and that aint going to happen.

My thoughts on why the softening of society has escalated is this in a nutshell. Back in the 1700's life expectancy was 30-40 years. The civil unrest that caused the uprisings was no different then as it is now. The difference being, back then people figured they were losing 10-20 years of life to fight for their beliefs.

Today life expectancy being approx 80 years means people are potentially sacrificing 40-60 years of life to support the cause. The sacrifice is longer than the total life expectancy of the patriots back then.

Just my ideas on rationalizing the sense of declining patriotism. YMMV

True but......
My feeling is that 99% of gun owners and gun supporters will give up their guns before resorting to actually killing people.
Its really tough to believe that millions of Americans will give up their cushy lives, their jobs, their families, their friends and their lives to join a roaming militia.
Also how many modern people would even know how to go about a major revolt?
Logistics alone would be a major issue.
Somehow millions of like minded patriots would have to collaborate offensive strikes and defensive strategies without using the internet or cellphones....both of which can be easily monitored.
These patriots would have to have constant contact across the country.
The idea that individuals or small guerilla groups could do enough damage to cause any change is not a good idea.
I know dozens of gun owners.
I know maybe 6 who would be willing.
I know maybe 3 who would be useful.

Gun owners need to pull together and be prepared to be disobedient.
We NYers should obtain any guns we want and banned together when someone is arrested.
If a guy in Rochester gets arrested for possession of an "assault weapon", we all pitch in $100+ for his court costs.
Same with a guy in Troy, a women in Buffalo.......
Load the courts with cases and lawsuits.
Force NYS to fork out millions of dollars to prosecute unconstitutional arrests.
Eventually one of these cases will reach SCOTUS.
We are all so law abiding that nobody is willing to get arrested.
A law thats never challenged in the courts, stays forever.

I agree with alot of what you say here. If it got to the point of violence to remove a tyrant, like we have, it would be Guerilla warfare which is not a coordinated or well planned warfare. No real rhyme or reason to how things are carried out. I think that's why it's so hard to prepare or plan for. It's like any professional sports team showing up to an event and finding out the other team has never played before. The pros will laugh and think it'll be the easiest game they ever played ... until they find out that the other team has decided there are no rules and they will score by any means necessary. The pro team at that point is useless. No I don't want to see violence but honestly ... I won't allow my child to have NO freedom, NO liberty and NO future. What I see now is that we the people are slaves in NY.

With complete Democratic control in New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo and his henchmen are at it again to make life even more difficult for gun owners. State Senate Bill S2857A has been submitted and is now making its way through the committee process. What is S2857A?

It would mandate that gun owners secure a $1,000,000 liability policy. The insurance law is amended by adding a new section 2353 to read as follows:
