No, any training requirement at all to exercise a right is unreasonable.
By complaining about the price you are tacitly acknowledging that it would be OK if it were just a bit cheaper.
My point is that the price is reasonable for the service they were offering.
The service shouldn't need to exist, but that is a completely different issue.

Let me be clear on this. We just approved a local instructor to offer this course at our club because we have both the classroom space and the range for the hands on. His price is in line with everyone else's, maybe a little less.
NO ONE at our club wants to make people take this course. At this point in time, the choice is offer people the course so they can continue to obtain pistols or not offer it and close the door to that option. We'd rather see mire citizens continue to obtain firearms and exercise their right to defend themselves and their families.
Again, none of us have any love for that whore but completely halting the permit process is not an option either.

Will take a while for them to rebuild. ...Thought they said they might double the length of the range. ... If so then zoning is involved ... I can see where this could be a year before a restart. as shortages are the normal these days.

I've seen this with many businesses... not just from fire damage. Looting, burglaries, larcenies, etc, etc. They get their insurance payment and the numbers look good and they GTFO while the gettin' is good.
We can all speculate, including the owner, but until the "Open" sign is lit again and the doors are open to the public, there is too many unknowns at this point.
Watching that video, they already said too much. Especially for something that is still pending investigation. As I like to say it, "Plead the 5th, until the investigation is over with!".
