First Pistol Bought, Today

My son bought his first pistol, today. He walked into a store, showed his driver's license, passed the NICS check, paid his money and walked out with a Glock 43. You just have to love how easily you can exercise your liberties with regard to your RKBA in states other than those like NY, NJ or CA (among others). He also picked up some ammo.

I imagine that whenever I get a chance to drive down his way for a visit, I will have to deplete my stock of 9mm a wee bit or more for him.

Wow if I could only imagine that happening in nys. I'm fixing to buy a .22 pistol I'm just dreading taking the day off work to go register it to obtain the property that I bought and paid for.

When my daughter got her Springfield XD pistols I promptly got her 2600 rounds so she could practice.

Same with me. Usually wind up having to take 2 (or at least par of 2) days off to drop off paperwork with the clerk and then again when the judge "authorizes" it usually about a week later.

In truth, there is one good thing about living in NY. It definitely cuts down on impulse pistol buys, at least for me. If I could get it same day I'd have probably a million more handguns than I do now and far less money in my bank account.

Yup. Every gun goes up by the cost of taking two half days to do that crap. So I only have two. Otherwise I'd have a lot more. Lol
