So me and the old lady came down with bronchitis. She went to urgent care and was given an antibiotic called azithromycin.

I didn't go to try an experiment. I am pleased to tell you guys that fish antibiotics work. I bought a bottle of Fish Mox. It's just plain Ciprofloxacin. The same thing you get at the pharmacy. I'm still alive after day 3 on it and the bronchitis is going away.

Expensive, but worth it. Manufactured in USA, makes it more trustworthy. My "fish" had an infection in his throat. He was given this med for 15 days 2x a day. He is all better. His sore throat is gone.

I did this experiment to see if they really work like the preppers say that they do so I can stock up for the inevitable collapse. It's American made pure antibiotics. Just not FDA approved.

Be aware you might pop a tendon( like an Achilles tendon) from Cipro. Be very careful stretching, hiking working out for a few months. It is the drug of choice for weaponized anthrax though.

Giving antibiotics for bronchitis is actually more harmful than doing nothing. Bronchitis is often viral and self-limiting.

Also, as stated above. There’s a significant risk for tendon and ligament rupture as well as aortic aneurysm/dissection. The time to watch for tendon rupture is like 6 weeks post-cessation.

Throwing this out there as a PSA for those with sick fish. Fish Mox isn’t cipro it’s amoxicillin.

I've heard that can be extended if kept in the fridge. Just rumor, no I don't care enough to confirm.

For anyone wondering, I'm alive. The fish antibiotics worked as designed with no ill effects.

Not to be a killjoy Will but how do you know they worked? Did you get confirmation it was a bacterial infection? It may have just run it’s course.
I don’t have an issue with these antibiotics in a SHTF scenario when you may not have a choice but if you use this stuff and it is a bacterial infection you may feel better but didn’t really kill it off since the dosing may not be entirely accurate. Now it could come back at you as a resistant strain and you could be fubar.. not likely in this case but like he saying goes “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”. It applies to bacteria as well.

Just be careful !!
