Lol I'm only asking for lakes or rivers I can fish at. Not asking for secret spots or honey holes.

Where exactly are you & what do you want to fish for? There are plenty of trout & bass in the reservoirs & connecting streams. Make sure you get a watershed permit. The Hudson river has some good fishing. Many of the DEC run properties have small lakes & ponds that get very little fishing pressure too.
I'm located in West Town/ Greenville area.
It's tough finding access points. Can't find much info online

Rutgers creek in minisink area gets well stocked with trout. The bashakill isn't far from you either.

Get the permit for the nyc reservoirs the neversink and roundout aren’t a bad drive for you. If your looking for trout their is a crap ton of spots look up the county trout stocking list on the dec site. The Bashakill is cool for bass and bowfin mainly with some browns but it is tough to fish from shore outside of a few spots but an awesome place to canoe or kayak.

I hit up the bashakill a few times and it's been really quiet..spoke to a few friends that go as well and they've had the same result..I hear there's been quite a bit of snakeheads around lately..wonder if that has anything to do with it

More likely the water temp making it slow. I saw the report about the snakehead being caught the DEC apparently went looking for more with nothing found. I would have to think if it was a legit problem they would be in full freak out mode since it is a direct source of flow into the Neversink and Delaware
I sure hope so.
Last trip I was there they had a bunch of DEC guys stunning the waters. Spoke to one and they said they think they're swimming up the rivers.

Interesting to find out from where. I don’t think snake heads can live in salt water so it’s doubtful it’s the Atlantic

If ever the chance, the Eastern Shore of Lk. Ontario and the St. Lawrence has spectacular fishing, and there's the Salmon River running through Pulaski and the Black River through Watertown (Salmon) problem is it's a good four hours North of you.

Can't say I would like the effect on the ecosystem that snakeheads would have. But I can say that if they wound up in NY, I'd make sure to do my part by catching, killing, and eating every one I caught.

Bowfin - not snakehead (at least not that I have ever heard of someone catching). One hell of a fighter.
There are a couple decent spots to fish from the bank, but you really need to go out in a boat. This is a great time of year to fish there. Senko or Slug-go never disappoint.

And there's been snakeheads..most recent catch wasnt too long ago

I've lived in Scotchtown my whole life, just recently moved to Slate Hill. With my kids getting older my fishing has slowed down but I do know of many places. If you are looking to target a certain species feel free to ask I may know a place or 2.

Some big prehistoric looking fish. Looks like a sturgeon maybe. I've seen it in the bashakill and a nearby pond.
I've seen something similar in a nearby lake myself. The thing is massive and it swims ontop of the water and smacks it's tail. It was out past sundown..no idea what it was
