Wasted $9.00 today to look around at all of the overpriced items that were for sale. Noticed one guy selling a new Springfield M1A. I had asked him if the M1A was NY compliant and his answer was yes. I said, why is that? is the magazine installed permanently? His reply was that there is a compensator at the end of the barrel, not a Brake or Flash Hider but a compensator. Seeing how the word compensator isn't in Safe Act, it's legal just the way it is. Is this semantics ? or is he correct?

The compensator was not an add on, the rifle is a stock Springfield.

I thought he was wrong also. So the only way that M1A could be compliant would be if the rifle didn't fire semi auto and by turning the gas screw to shut off the gas isn't going to cut it. It would have to be a permanent modification.
