Tell that to Fulton County. Years the PP course instructed by LE let you handle pistols which of course was not legal. I am told now you live fire pistols during the course. But then again FC kinda does what they want, its very easy to obtain a unrestricted permit and while not a quick process its probably one of the fastest in the state.

This includes all firearms correct .. Am I shooting trap to get that 90 % accuracy or do I just fire 10 rounds at a paper target at 10 yards with # 6 shot... Just asking...

And shooting a handgun isn't exactly easy for someone who is a beginner. So its a backdoor to a ban when people can't pass their exam. Itd be like giving someone a road test who's never driven a car, and failing them for sucking at it.

This will of course negatively impact people of color the most, which ironically is the community Meeks claims to represent. He is a piece of work. I sent him a letter after the hearing regarding the ATV/dirt bike riding in Rochester. I had an idea for a "big brother, little brother" program where people with extra space on a trailer could meet up with these kids in the city and take them down to atv parks where these machines belong. The test requires live-fire practice to develop proficiency. Live-fire is illegal in New York without a permit. So, not only would it be illegal to practice to obtain a first pistol in New York, it would be nearly impossible (if not cost-prohibitive) to get enough practice to obtain a first pistol even if some kind of "training exemption" was created.

So... if you're proficient with your current firearms, and want to try a new platform, you need to prove proficiency with a firearm you've never used?

This is the kind of legal detritus that we can expect in an anti-constitutional territory where elected elitists are ignorant of the topics about which they legislate.

I'm not sure how you get 5 hours out of:

Always treat the gun as loaded.
Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
