In case anyone is planning a fixed mag or pistol build I thought I'd just throw this out there. I just switched from a dd's lock to an Fc hook and apparently it doesn't work with all magazines, so keep in mind and check what kind you have.
I have a California comp mag, and with a bit of cutting and filing on the mag was able to get the Fc hook to lock.
In my opinion, this is probably the best setup for a fixed mag build.
1. no need to topload, it's loaded from the side of the magazine
2. Compmag is easy to to empty, without having to remove the floorplate in case of a malfunction
3. Fc hook is easily removable, and can only detach a mag using a tool when the action is disassembled. Essentially the same as an sks.
Here's the stock compmag
And the catch area I had to cut out, and do a little filing.
