Florida CCW class (Syracuse area)

Folks,

I am looking for a Florida CCW class and reside in greater Syracuse. My local buddy traveled to Rochester for his, with Rochester Personal Defense.

Today I saw a poster at Gander Outdors advertising a class there hosted by "CNYPISTOLCLASS.com". Can anyone comment if this company CNYPISTOLCLASS.com is: a) legit; and 2) fairly priced?

i pretty sure you do not need one .. or a NY PP for FL .. just a hunting class cert is good .. get the package from FL for the finger prints and forms to fill out ..

I have had a Florida permit for years. Just recently renewed it. All you need is just about any firearms training that includes live fire. If you were ever in the military, your DD214 will suffice.

OP - Don't be scammed by places telling you the "you need to take our course for a FL permit". If you're not already qualified take a free NYS hunter safety course. This time of year you shouldn't have a problem finding one at a club near you.

Florida will send you a fingerprint card. You take it to your local police department or Sheriff's office and have them fingerprint you. Then you send the completed card back to Florida.

Digital is not necessary. It MUST be done by a LE agency though.

I don't think digital is even an option unless you are applying in Florida in person.

Mine were done digitally in Onondaga county by a 3rd party company that did "rent-a-cops" for $100 back in 2015.
The Sherrifs' office did not do fingerprinting for permits at that time.
