Florida lost billions during Covid by the lock down... The Biden bailout favored all the Democrat run states ,,, I believe Florida was almost one of the smallest as far as bailout money sent to the states. Every state is scrambling for revenue ....

In Florida, Under their constitution, taxation is legal as well. Section V11 of their Constitution. Passed and agreed to by the people.

Legalized theft doesn't make it not theft.

Theft is taking someone's property without their permission.

The government giving itself permission does not count.

The fact that it's necessary to maintain government doesn't make it not theft, Just like a guy stealing food to feed his family is still stealing.



There are several important services that a government provides. They do need to be paid for. There are 3 basic revenue streams government can use to pay for them. Fines, Fees, and Taxes. Of those, Fees are the most honest. The vast majority of government should be funded via fees (and some things we think of as taxes could be more properly understood as fees).

But Muh roads... Well, they're public property. A person using public property should compensate the public for that use. The government should just charge a fee for using them. Just like charging entrance to a public park.

There are many other publicly owned assets that are not being properly managed. If their use was properly billed (and the government stopped doing crap it has no business in), then general taxes could be all be nearly eliminated.

I don't think Florida has state income tax, so a consumption tax isn't unreasonable, as long as it is a flat rate, for everyone, across the board.

Give it another year or so before NY and/or the feds start to change the ridiculous progressive income tax rates to a more socially/race based system.

We have too many with no skin in the game. They don't give a damn how other people's money is spent. That's why I want everyone to pay taxes. If you make only $100 a year, I want you to pay $1 in federal income tax. It may only be $1. But, the person making only $100/year will damn sure want to know how THEIR tax money is being spent.
