Florida lawmakers reject assault weapons ban, approve bill allowing teachers to carry

The fact that teachers could soon be allowed to carry firearms inside schools wasn’t sitting well with gun control supporters, either.

“It bothers me to think as a father of two young boys to tell them to not be aggressive to your teacher,” said Sen. Oscar Branynon (D-Miami Gardens).

The lawmaker told the Sun Sentinel that he and other black fathers across Florida will now have to include teachers when talking to their children about how to act around armed authority figures.

“Please don’t make it dangerous for children who look like my children to go to school,” he said.

I respected my teachers, because they scared the crap out of me and they would rat me out to my parents, who scared me even more.

and my teachers never lied to my parents ~~~ even if they did, my parents would believe them over me.

there is nothing wrong with teachers or administrators carrying a firearm, IF THEY WANT TO, if they don't want to carry, thats fine, that is their choice.

But if we want to throw people under a bus, let's start with Joe (Gun Free Zone) Biden, it was his idea to leave children unprotected

And that guy is an elected politician. With attitudes like that it's no wonder so many kids grow up not knowing a damn thing about how the world works. Seriously any parent who teaches their kids that it's ok to be aggressive to adults is an unmitigated moron and should lose the ability to pro create. Be careful not to leave tide pods out, keep them locked in a safe.

Extreme idiocy from the left . it's just another misconceived talking point to gain attention but actually it only shows how out of touch they are from reality.

He DOES NOT tell his children to be respectful and non-aggressive towards their teachers. Guess we know why so many teachers are being beaten up by their students.

Maybe it is that YOUR kids are undisciplined brats?

I went to Catholic school probably at the tail end of when corporal punishment was still somewhat tolerated in school. Half my teachers were nuns. I respected it because that wooden pointer stick with the rubber tip hurt like a mother Fu?&er when they smacked you in the arm with it. That was the punishment you wanted because getting sent to the principals office was even worse. She was also a nun and the definition of mean. Looking back, I was exactly the type of kid who needed that type of discipline. They were not worried about my feelings and they demanded respect. I’d probably be in jail if it wasn’t for those nuns.

This speaks to the root of the problem with these mass killings. It is the attitudes of the parents that are passed down to the children. There is no more discipline. Children are allowed to rule the school without the possibility of any punishment. God forbid a teacher today scolds a child, they could loose their job.

Yes. It is egregious and unnecessary.

If they do so, they should no longer require anybody to register for the selective service until they are 21 years old. Then, we should repeal the 26th amendment and add a new amendment raising the voting age to 21 years.

The 26th amendment was put through with the logic of "old enough to fight, old enough to vote." Well......the logical converse is also true.
