If you choose to make your own, gunthings.com has a template for the receiver wrench.

If my headspacing determines that the locking shoulder isn't within range, where do you recommend sourcing a new shoulder? There seems to be quite a few out there.

I’ve gone through gunthings or Arizona response systems. DSA may be another source to check out. Other thing you can do is post on the falfiles and swap locking shoulders with someone else who is looking for the size you may have. You building on an Imbel? The reason I ask is the only two receivers that needed oversized was a Hesse and and older Entreprise.

It's a DSA receiver on an Imbel kit. Pretty much the only sources still in stock and not inflated to hell price wise.
Any words of wisdom on pitfalls the guides might not mention?

DSA sells a dust cover that is cut back to allow stripper clip top loading. That was a secondary goal considering this will be a fixed mag.
Do you have any idea what "Designed To Work Only With MEtric Receivers That Have Been Cut To Engage The Indexing Tabs" might mean?

They are probably referring to a para cut. The para dust cover is a different set up due to the spring setup. As for guides, the best money I spent was on gunplumbers guide. Mark does a fantastic job. I just checked and the dvd and workbook set is $70. I can tell you that it saved me way more than $70 in mistakes I would have made.
