I saw a video on Instagram the other day about this. I don't know if this has been shared yet so I am going to share it with ya. The side-loading AR-15 stripper clip, because California (VIDEO)
At least....isn't there 3 threads on this already?
If these were priced around 10 or maybe even 15$ (approx the cost of a magazine) these could have been a real win for people with fixed mag rifles. At 40$ each, the cost is just to high to use them in lieu of stripper clips. Given that it now means you have a step process to load your gun, it seems slower overall and not a worth while tool

I might not have been clear, at 40$ a piece I am not going to be buying these in any large quantity more likely 1 if any. If I only have one, each time I want to load the rifle, I need to load the loader and then use the loader to load the rifle. Is that really any faster then popping the rear pin and directly loading the magazine? Can you load your gun with a stripper clip if the upper is still attached to the lower with a fixed mag rifle? You can with this device. Slower overall than stripper clips,,,I would say faster even if you could remove the magazine. Its very much a worthwhile tool if you can comprehend what you are looking at.

If they priced these closer to 10 dollars, I might be inclined to pick up 10 or more, so that I could preload a bunch of them, and use them in manner similar to stripper clips.

I dont know about you but opening the action and top loading is pretty damn annoying as well as the likelihood of introducing a foreign object into the action is increased.
Being that in a SHTF scenario nobody is going to use this when they can just put in a standard magazine release, what is the purpose of this for range use when it would just be faster to manually load one by one?
Being that you have to manually load the loader, you'd need 30 of these to save time at an average range session of about 300 rounds.
So if you only buy 2 or 3 of these, you'll have to waste time loading these at the range. It'll actually take more time.
Which is why fixed magazines on AR's are stupid in my opinion to begin with.I dont know about you but opening the action and top loading is pretty damn annoying as well as the likelihood of introducing a foreign object into the action is increased.

perfect for range toys.Which is why fixed magazines on AR's are stupid in my opinion to begin with.
Can't agree more with you on that but we are all up the same creek in this God forbidden state. I have both fixed mag and compliant ar w/a removable mag but I have to say the loss of a pistol grip is a big deal.Which is why fixed magazines on AR's are stupid in my opinion to begin with.
Not to me. I can manipulate it almost as well with a Thordsen and I have small hands. I can even hold it at an angle like a standard pistol grip if I wanted to.Can't agree more with you on that but we are all up the same creek in this God forbidden state. I couldn't stand the way the Thordsen felt, I did pick up some ARES SCRs though. everything else either went fixed mag or straight pull bolt action. Not to me. I find the loss of standard capacity magazines much more hurtful for defense. Had we had a choice of one or the other, I'd pick a Thordsen with 30 rounders compared to a fully featured with 10 rounders.
That's about the only logical use a fixed magazine equipped rifle would be perfect for in my opinion. Long range competition.perfect for range toys.

I don't like the way the Thordsen looks or how it feels compared to a standard AR. I use one however because in a combat situation where laws still exist, (IE home defense against multiple intruders), the ability to work the rifle as intended and reload as intended is much more important than a grip angle that is off by a few degrees.I couldn't stand the way the Thordsen felt, I did pick up some ARES SCRs though. everything else either went fixed mag or straight pull bolt action.
Got to do what you got to do. Got that angle covered, cast iron skillets.......Being that my wife has no pistol permit, she needs an arm that can function correctly when I'm not there.
I don't know about that. Most gangbangers carry 9mm's instead of .45 ACP's.Got to do what you got to do. Got that angle covered, cast iron skillets.
they typically have to shoot 30-100 rounds per hit though. that gives the little woman plenty of time to play whack a creep with the skillet.I don't know about that. Most gangbangers carry 9mm's instead of .45 ACP's.
