I shoot exclusively Fiochhi FMJ and have no issues. None. None at all. Previously, American Eagle gave me problems.

I haven't had any trouble with mine. I have fed it a variety of cheap FMJ and occasionally hornady critical defense.

Every town is different. My town gives a higher percent if you are a combat vet and can show a campaign medal or Armed Forces Expeditionary medal. Like Goperfect said,” Just stop by Town Hall and ask.”

Ruger is pretty good with their customer support. I would explain your issues to them and have them either fix it right or replace it.
Rugers are generally pretty great guns and usually arent ammo sensitive.
We have 5 Rugers and have had zero issues for years.

I had one, actually two.
The first one I shot 300 to 400 rounds of the cheap stuff through it with good results. One day I decided I had better try the Federal HXP through it because that is what I was carrying in it. Got off one shot and the mag fell out! Tried it multiple times with 4 different mags with the same results.
Called Ruger, sent it to them. They fired 95 rounds of Lawman through it without a problem.
When I got it back I shot it with Federal HXP HP's, Remington premium ammo and Sig premium HP's. The mag fell out after the first shot each time.
Sent it back to Ruger and told them to try premium ammo not the cheap stuff.
A week later I received an email saying the tech said they were going to retain it and send it to a engineer.
They sent me a new one. Fired it with the same results, mag falling out! My local dealer thought I was doing it some how. I let him shoot it, he had the same results with the mag falling out. I sent it back and asked for a refund. Bought a S&W 442!

I agree. Send it back and they will make it right. Sucks but they are good. They basically gave me a new SR22 when mine was bad.

I don't have an LCP, but I can tell you that it is very possible that the gun was designed to use specific ammunition. I have a SEECAMP .32 auto, and they are designed to use Winchester Silvertips, AND NOTHING ELSE. The owners manual explicitly states this, and even states that use of any other ammo may void the warranty ! I don't know about the Ruger, but it would not surprise me to learn of a similar situation.

Most owners of the LCP II have zero problems.. They have been very reliable.. Like anything else, there are some bad ones that make it through.. Ruger CS is second to none...

Send it back, Ruger will keep at it until you are satisfied.

I had an issue with my sr22 which was caused by me, but they warrantied it without question.

Listen. I’m not one that will sugar coat and lie to protect an investment. I hate when people do that. They do it all the time with the new Sigs. If the LCP 2 would have given me problems, I would be the first to say it.

In the very beginning I had a few failures to extract properly with American Eagle. Since changing to Winchester white box and Fiocchi, all the problems are gone. It’s a good gun.

I would try to use fiocchi if I were you and if it still persists, send it back for a new one. I bet my life on it and since the ergonomics are so good, I often carry it more than my Glock 26 since it’s like not carrying a gun at all.

Something else my dealer and I found out about my gun!
Both the guns I had were made in North Carolina. After my dealer shot my second gun and had the same problem, (mag falling out) we tried my mags in two other LCP 2's he had in stock. The mags fit the same as in my gun , sloppy for and aft. All were made in NC. The other LCP2 he had was made in Arizona the mags fit much better, no slop for and aft.
He said Ruger North Carolina has a problem!

They make different guns in different states. Not sure the list. I contacted CS for my SR22 and it says for this gun press this for this factory.
I also have the LCPII and it’s made in AZ I think but my mags were made in 2 different factories.
if you decide to part ways with it I could use a few mags and would buy some off you along with a descent pocket holster. Selling all together you normally lose your ass. Not trying to sway you one way or the other but just a thought.
Ruger will make it right. I have the frame off my sr22 and that’s it. Everything else is brand new and paid no shipping there or back.

That may be it. My mags are made in Italy.

I haven't had this issue as I haven't shot my LCP 2 yet (just got it this Sunday), but I did think about @Marine Cpl when I was picking it up. Got it dirt cheap on buds. $189 for the blue camo LCP 2.

Will go into the pocket rotation with the P238.

Now I have 3. 380s.

I dunno, I have my doubts as to if you'll carry it as much as your P238, after shooting both at the range,, The Sig is a lot more accurate, and a lot easier to shoot for any length of time.. I owned The LCP Custom as well as the LCPII,, Both nice little guns, until I shot my wife's P238.. That was the end of the little Rugers for me... They are somewhat small than the Sig, to me thats the one and only advantage, other than the lower price... bob

I shoot my LCPII more accurate than my larger carry gun. I find the LCPII very easy to shoot accurately. Now shooting it for anything over 50 rounds at a time is a different story. The grip is a little small for drawing too.

I do very much like the feel of the p238, but I got my LCPII for $240. You won’t find a P238 for that price. I do feel the P238 is a quality gun and probably better quality than the LCPII so I’m not knocking the P238. I came very close to buying one.

I have the opposite experience.

I can shoot it all day, but it is noticeably less accurate than my G26.

It is however more than accurate enough for it's intended purpose. I can put the whole mag reliably into the center of a torso target at 15 yards in a fairly rapid fashion.

Two unfortunate things I have noticed lately after carrying it in the factory pocket holster however.

1. The finish is not as durable as some others. I admittedly don't clean and lubricate it as often as I should, but I noticed it starting to develop some surface rust on the side that faces my leg in the pocket.

2. On more than one occasion I have found a magazine that was firmly seated to be unseated when removing the gun after carrying it for a day.

I can only surmise that the magazine release was pressed enough at some point in my travels.

This happens in the factory pocket holster with nothing else in the pocket. I assume the release is just pressing against my leg enough to let go.

Lc9s users had similar problems, and the solution was to buy the Italian magazines. Problems fixed.
