not sure , but i bet the forging process kicks it up some .. it's all on the carbon content .. i made knifes frm files in high school .. rust fast and brittle ..
but will work ...

I did the same with files. Was really more grinding than forging. I don't understand enough about steel to know what is good or not to go into a knife. It's something that facinates me and I want to learn more about.
