Kind of a funny thing related (very loosely) to this..
Some years ago (probably more than I think, 6 or 7, I dunno) I was at an event that was being managed by a couple of freinds (married couple, of whom I've known the wife longer and known better, but they're both cool). It's perhaps relavant (and perhaps not) that she knows very well I'm a gun person, and actually a lot more about my past and connections to firearms and stuff than almost anyone on this forum.
At some point, while she and I were hanging out outside the venue and talking, she calls over another of her freinds that was walking past, one I hadn't formally met yet. After we said hello, she says to me something like ,"Yeah, [Redacted] here is a cameraman on that Forged in Fire show", and then theres this long awkward moment where she just stares at me wide-eyed, like I'm supposed to have some kind of reaction. I think he and I are both a little confused, so I just said something along the lines of "oh.. sure, that's cool man". He adds a little bit of detail, it's all good, nice fella, but now she seems surprised.
She's says (again, something like) "I really thought you'd be more interested in that !"
Me: "Oh, yeah.. it's cool I guess.. but .. why specifically ?"
Her, "Well, I would have thought you seem like a big sword guy !" (we had definitely never discussed swords)
Me: "I'm... not sure whether to be a little insulted or not right now"
I mean, swords are fine. Nothing against swords. I'm just not sure about how I feel about giving off strong vibes (perhaps particularly to women) of.. obviously a 'sword guy'.

That is pretty much a Roman style ,Gladius sword.........
They were used for almost a thousand years by Romans , to efficiently kill Barbarians, Visigoths,Gauls, Carthaginians, Egyptians.
The recent Dial of Destiny movie, shows Roman Gladiators using such swords in the battle of Syracuse....chopping, hacking, stabbing, butchering.........
Only Col Colt, changed the world............ from such weapons dominance.
