Many would be surprised. The main stream media presents the picture of Tx being a desert with outlaws every where and anyone does what they please. Far from it.

Petty crime in NY like a "nickle" bag of weed here is considered a serious crime.
Dwi is x 100 worst here than a safeact violation in NY.
Just 2 quick examples among many others.
BUT your 2A RIGHT is respected for the most part.
Open carry and concealed carry with a LCH license.You can even have a loaded firearm in any "extension" of your property...vehicle included without license. Since the open carry law passed i have only seen 4 people open carry all over Tx and i travel alot. I myself prefer concealed. A new law for open carry knives or machetes or katanas or whatever won't make a difference. Tx is Tx.
