I remember the Sgt. Slappy video from a couple of years ago. What I don't understand is if he was only convicted on misdemeanor, when did his gun rights get taken away?

Just watched the video for the first time and I'm pretty disgusted how blatantly aggressive and nasty this guy is. People like this guy give the good cops a bad wrap and ruin the image of police in general. Id definitely say he deserves to be knocked down a few pegs.
Saw this video a while back, I think it was posted here when the incident first happened. The guy is a douche bag (the cop).
I do not understand how and why his guns are unlawful, the pistol maybe, I am guessing that he never got a pistol permit, just had the pistols(s) on his badge and never took the additional steps needed to keep them. The Long guns? How and why are they illegal?

Just my opinion based on character from what was displayed in the video.
The problem with LEO Chiefs and Military Generals that believe in gun control is: they believe they will get to keep their guns when everyone else's are taken away. It seems this belief is not restricted to the top.

This has nothing to do with cops in general. He is an idiot who was in clearly in the wrong. It gets stressful dealing with all the BS that goes with being a cop, but we have to maintain our professionalism always even when dealing with pedophiles, rapists and murderers. Rarely do we see a video that shows the best of law enforcement because no one will watch it.

Sorry, but even I as former LE do not like the 2 class system in NY. LE can buy a handgun on their badge. Then as they are getting close to retirement, they realize they need to get a permit like us guys. What happens to their AR-15's?

Why would they watch it? It is expected that someone with a weapon and the right to use it at their discretion will follow certain rules. But they don't. The stories are sad and true.
How about Amadou Diallo? Shot 41 times for reaching for his wallet in NYC. 4 cops charged with second degree murder and his next of kin was paid $3 million using my tax dollars.
Eric Garner executed for selling single cigarettes for $1. NY pays his fiance $5.9 million. Again my tax dollars at work.
Last month some cop gut shots a 40 year old woman in her pajamas that had called 911. Wonder what that cost will be to Minnesota taxpayers?
When I was living in Suburban Atlanta, cops executed a 92 year old woman sitting in her rocking chair. They "no knock warranted" the wrong house and murdered her. Kathryn Johnston. $4.9 millon payout. My Georgia tax dollars went to that.
The list goes on and on; and almost always it's a Black person they executed illegally for shits and giggles. And that's not the only cop issue. My brother is NYPD in Staten Island. The corruption in NYC city is rampant. But I am sure that's the case everywhere; or movies like Serpico would not have garnered academy awards. Lots of cops are corrupt. But unlike white-collar crime where the person getting fucked is a corporation or an insurance company; cops kill people.
Talk about professionalism; but every day some cop is not being professional and someone ends up being executed or having their ass kicked. Either way it's fucked up. And probably the WORST cops of all - the justice system cops that are sworn to protect inmates that are in prison or in jail awaiting trial. The way Eyricka King has been tortured is fucking horrific.
Want to know why cops sicken most Americans - the fucked up shit some of them do. That's why. It's not the media. If they didn't kill people the Media would find other stuff to whine about instead.
