I was about to ask a question about stun guns. If they really don't want you to own a 9mm because you can "blow the lungs out somebody's body" why not allow pepper spray or stun guns? I mean, if a homeless or a regular individual, is about to attack/rob you. You know that person is not necessarily gonna kill you but is gonna cause you harm. Wouldn't Using pepper spray or a stun gun be the ideal tool to disable the threat? You don't get harmed or robbed. They keep their lungs. And at the end, nobody dies.

Why, how much more of a "right case" did they need, they had two "Assault Weapons Ban" cases that they just GVR'd.

If anything SCOTUS has said there is no need for them to take up this issue as they have given the guidance needed to make the right decision at the lower courts

You want the State to approve of you using a less lethal form of self defense ? This State ? The State that says you have a DUTY TO RETREAT ? That State ?

This State wants, expects, and even commands you to NOT defend yourself from anyone, including ( especially ) THEM. Did you happen to notice the massive temper tantrum that Hochul had when SCOTUS released a couple decisions that she disagreed with recently ?

I believe people here are a bit confused about the use of less lethals.
The justification for pepper spray(less lethal) is far less than the justification for deadly force.
For instance, a guy thinks you slighted him so he gets in your face and maybe a little belly bump. In that case you are justified to use pepper spray, but nowhere near the level of deadly force. Pepper spray can stop a threat before it gets to the need of deadly force. Less lethal can be used even before a punch in the head.
Also good for dogs, cats or any other pet that is considered property which can cause minor injury but not death or serious bodily injury.
A local guy got arrested and convicted of a serious misdemeanor and fined $600 for shooting a ladies miniature poodle that was tearing his pants. The judge told him to get pepper spray....just saying.
All that said, I do not carry spray because....well.....im a man and I have a mean choke hold.
But for some people spray can be the difference between injury and no injury when a firearm cannot be used.
