Macron pushed through a rule to raise the age of retirement without a vote so one million people protest this week across the country and they are shutting down businesses and government buildings. Of course I don’t think they should burn parts of buildings like they are but I couldn’t imagine the citizens of the USA taking to the street like this over an executive order.

The French are always protesting and striking. They shut down everything in support of almost any protest/strike. If the Sous Chefs or Maitre' D's go on strike they stop trucks entering and leaving the country, shut down roadways, public transport, etc. It is a bizarre culture in that regard.

No we don't. Our issue is the US government used the society security savings account like it was their personal piggy bank and now the IOUs are coming due and there are not enough workers to pay the people retiring. Which turns SS into a ponzi scheme.Two totally different problems.

not to mention all the muslim immigrants that france let in. I think the plan is fairly obvious. Overload the social system to make government control easier. it seems to be working like a charm in Europe

Right from the very beginnning the first recipients had never paid into it.

There was never a "lock box". The money taken out of your paycheck has always been "invested" into federal bonds, aka .gov IOUs.
