Thinning the herd and this ones next. 1903 Springfield NRA Sporter, serial# 1318xxx with original SA 7-29 barrel, Standard 30-06 caliber, rounded receiver edge, Star Gauged barrel (no muzzle stamp but has star guage # on underside of barrel. (Please Google NRA 1903 Sporter, if you dont know what this is). Bore is mirror-bright. Correct, numbered bolt, (cant see # with bolt closed), 1922/M2 stock that had cross bolts added. Nicely repaired sling swivel hole behind front band and a small repaired chip by rear sight. Some bumps and normal marks but overall a very solid and good looking stock. Original bluing on barrel & receiver. #-matching Lyman 48 sight. Came to me with a slip-on ramp front sight that I replaced with a correct USGI front sight. Rifle wears a Noske side mount w/Maxwell Smith G88 scope (7/8” tube). Scope has small chip in occular lens, but optics are clear. Scope comes w/original box, green lens caps & paperwork, also receiver plug screws in small, old envelope. Rifle is drilled and tapped for Unertl/Lyman bases, (touched up with a Sharpie.) thats about it. I shot this rifle with the iron sights and it didn’t disappoint. Action is smooth and rifle behaves as it should. Never used the scope. Reduced to $1250.00. This gets the rifle, mount & scope, and 2-page SRS paperwork, confirming sale in Feb 1930 as a Springfield Armory-built NRA Sporter, to a Doctor in Wyndham, NY. Even has a photocopy of the original sales receipt from Feb 1930. Shipping included to lower 48. Payment by Paypal F&F, USPMO’s, Bank Check (will hold till clears) or cash (FTF in southern NY, should we meet up. Will have to ship the original scope box extra but I’ll cover that. FFL or C&R to ship. Rifle will ship in a plastic hard padded gun case, wrapped in cardboard. Fully insured.
