Anyone know how to get a premise or target and hunting permit these days? My wife needs to do that so she can hang on to my guns if I die for my kids.

His time and materials is certainly worth the new cost unfortunate as it is. Being so cost prohibitive can only help challenges to the law going forward too. It's just too bad that the lawmakers can't be sued personally and be made to pay damages for their bullshit.

I get that. I’m guessing the materials isn’t much outside the fake pistols for the live fire training course if they get 20 people per week that’s $600,000/year from this course alone. I think 20 people per week is fairly low. Considering range time is $20/hour and you’re at 2 hours here. I think $600 is a bit much, I’m sorry. A full day intro to CCW course through him was $150 when I took it. It was a good course and he’s a great instructor.

Unless its happened in the last few days and I've missed it, the State HAS NOT released the criteria for instructors, the standards, Test, or qualifications for giving said instruction. The fact that they've been teaching Pistol Licenses courses has no relevance to the new Law.
OK Great, you've instructed hundreds including those in Law Enforcement: Do you have the Tests that must be passed with an 80% or greater score? Has the Superintendent of the State Police approved your Instructors Application? Is your Course approved by the same?
What certifications do you have for instructing Suicide prevention? How about Conflict de-escalation and the other sections spelled out in the Law?
Have you read and do you fully understand the revisions of PL400 and 265?
Sorry, but the claims being made by people formerly offering instruction to meet County requirements of being able to fulfil the new standards is bullshit.

Supposedly FTWNY has received approval from someone at the NYSP for their course and will provide the info if you ask them, but that's just what I heard. In any case, $575 is insane. MD requires a 16 hour course + live-fire and most of the classes are $300-350. The places that price gouge are charging $450+ for the same course, and I fully believe that is what FTWNY is doing here.

I have no issue with this individual, and if he wants to charge that kind of money that's his chance at business, God Bless him if he can get it.
My beef is those claiming they're fully approved when there seems to be no approval, course material, or certification standards made available.
How can you say you're qualified, and the Licensing Authority WILL accept the Certificate issued upon completion and a passing Grade IF the entity charged with setting those standards and conditions has not produced them?
