FUAC AR Option

Some say this device converts your semiautomatic AR into manually operated. Some say it doesn't. Whether it does it or not is for a court to decide but regardless, I found an option that makes it easier to manipulate the bolt release so that you don't have to hold a magwell grip.

Combined you can keep all your features and have a similar rate of fire as Semi Auto.

I don't get it. He didn't manipulate the battlebar at all and the bolt returned to battery all on its own. I thought the purpose was to lock the bolt back after every shot, technically making it a single shot, allowing all the features including the removable magazine. What am I missing?

I still am unsure of the legality but with that said if your OK with that risk I think its a great option.

It would appear the spring that pushes the bolt catch up would put constant tension on the bottom of your BCG. That can't be good and must put some serious wear on both components.

It's two different products. There first is the Bolt Interrupter in the first video.

The 2nd video is the Battle Bar. It doesn't have the Bolt Interpreter installed because he's a free citizen. The product is just to release the bolt with the thumb of your shooting hand.

Combining the two different products together, makes the rifle single shot where you'd have to push the bolt forward with your thumb.

I actually have the Bolt Interrupter, tried it, and never had any problems.

Quite honestly, I only put about 100 rounds down range. Most of the time, i held the bolt catch down and it operated like a normal semi auto.

Meh...the things we do just for a pistol grip. It could be a good option, but I don't like having to unhinge the upper to drop the mag. Seems cumbersome. Why hasn't someone tried to make a top loading upper? Have the part above the ejection port separate and hinged from the rest of the upper so that with the bolt locked back, you can swing the door open and have complete access to the top of the mag.

Yes you can. There is a local dealer selling them that way (with tier 5 installed) right out of the store. You can then have a detachable mag.

Incredibly intriguing. I'm starting to think I'd rather go "single shot" and be able to drop the mag than fixed mag with semi-auto. That really seems to be the trade off, here.

It just sucks that the law is written in such a way that no one really knows for sure what's within the law and what's not.

Shops are already selling fully featured AR's using the one in the top video. Someone must have gotten the go ahead because one of the shops has a contract with the NYSP and Sheriffs depts.

That is as fast as a mag change. Just carry mean loaders.

If shops are selling them like people are saying, then you can probably be rest assured you're not going to run into any issues. I'm going to put faith in the FFL's legal sales with documentation more than a few opinions on the internet. That OP seems like a good idea to me. I'm wondering how easy it would be to manipulate if you're shooting for an hour or so holding it down to manually fire "semi auto". To me it's not all that different than having to hold down a grip safety or something like that.

With just a magwell hold, you can hold it down all day and fire all day. There's hardly no pressure to keep the bolt release down.

I'd assume that, but I was talking about with the extended lever you suggested. I wouldn't want to shoot with a hand on the magwell/receiver like that, there's not enough muzzle rise control and it just feels wrong. I only hold the magwell while behind concealment to pull up and shorten the overall length, but never to fire.

With this setup, you can put something in between the receiver and the extended bolt release when under your control and take it out when putting it away. I'm trying to figure out what would stay.
