This is depressing... Gun owners in NYS are going to get steamrolled... Well, even more than we already have at this point.
First off, like Saltwater60 just mentioned in the post above, we will lose the senate.
Cuomo already has the NY UNSAFE Act in place, and it is still basically entirely intact despite our efforts.
He owns the NYS courts.
He has the money and the connections.
He gives NYS tax dollars to Puerto Rico.
He gets away with all of the corruption unscathed.
He does and says anything he wants to ( "America was never that great" ) and doesn't miss a step.
He is never held accountable for any of his actions in general.
He has, and never will, have any serious opposition... IMO
He will sit on the throne for as long as he wants to... IMO
Andy knows all of this,,, and because of that, he will be more embolden than ever.
IMO,,, the only chance for NYS gun owners will be if FUAC goes way to far and the Supreme Court addresses it.
Either way,,, it's not just the 2A issue alone here in NYS. There are still all of the other serious issues that are
dragging Upstate NY and Western NY down to shithole status.
So, in the end, NYS, is toast no matter what.
The only way out ... Is to get out.

Do you want to be running your entire life? Do you like the idea of having to move from State to State as more and more come under the power of the oppressors? When is enough going to be enough that people start standing up for their Rights, instead of sneaking off in the middle of the night, hoing that maybe THIS TIME the tyrants won't show up?
If you don't want to fight for your Rights, then why have them.

Agreed, but our side of the debate have been trying to do that for years (decades perhaps) now. Part of the reason there was a schism in the NRA way back in the '70s was because of folks who saw how you, me and most on this forum think and the the Fudd mentality (that's why groups like Gun Owners of America exist...truly no compromise).
The Fudds I know will never change their mindset that King Andy is not coming after their hunting rifle that they take out once a year to sight-in and and shoot a deer. The few that do will just shrug, say nothing can be done, and go back to watching football and drinking beer. I know a guy, a little older than me, agrees with everything we say, but still would rather spend his time lobbying Albany about antler restrictions. I mean, the God Dam apocalypse is coming down on us and you'd rather spend your time and money fighting for more antler restrictions! I frankly have no use for Fudds anymore. Most will never lift a finger to help us.
Gun rights are only one part of the equation. For some of us, myself included, they are a bigger part of the equation.
In my case, the upstate manufacturing economy had finally gotten so bad that I had to consider leaving my lifetime home. And I was not at all saddened to be moving to a state (NC) that is much more gun friendly without all of the anti 2A BS.
Unfortunately, Cuomo will only be forced out once the state economy hits absolute rock bottom. NY already has the second highest debt (only CA is worse) at about 350 BILLION!
At some point the shithole will implode,- most likely when the national economy falters the next time.
I am grateful to have been recruited to make a move here to NC. Next up will be to get my children to move away from the NY economic hell hole.

Back to South Carolina, If it follows me there, that's going to be because of a nation wide Federal law. IMO
And if that does happen, I am still so much better off in SC for many different reasons including my bank account. What I pay in property taxes here in NYS is insane for what my property is accessed at. I can own twice as much in SC for what I have to pay up here. Or I can own about the same and pay half as much.
There are a lot of things bad about NYS. It's just not only a 2A issue, for me anyway... YMMV

When I moved to Arizona I wasn't running from anything. I was expanding my oppurtunities. I was looking for a better life.
When I moved to NYS I wasn't running from anything. My wife wanted to live near her family once again.
When I eventually move out of this shithole and back to SC I will not be running. Nope it's not running away with my tail between my legs. That's not how I roll. I have maybe 20 good years left if that. I am "looking" to improve the quality of my life.
That isn't running... LOL
Looking for something, searching for something better, is not the same as running away from something.
Simply wanting a change of how or where I choose to live is not running... IMO

No, of course not. But if that happens I will draw my line in the sand in South Carolina. With more like minded people
to try and achieve the same goal. Without the problem of New York City voters and their politicians. South Carolina would have a chance at throwing off the yoke of tyranny... There is no chance here, because of New York City.
Short of the Supreme Court intervening, 2A rights are toast in NYS. That is just the reality of it. Hell, this very thread is about additional NYS gun control laws coming on top of what we already have. That says a lot right there to support my points. No matter what you or I do, nothing will change. It will only get worse. New York City controls the entire State and there is not a damn thing you or I or anybody else can do about that.

I will do like most others that have left NYS have done. I will do it in broad daylight. There is nothing to be afraid of and there is certainly nothing to be ashamed of. Once again, our 2A rights is not the only thing that is fucked up in NYS.
People on this very forum start threads and announce well in advance about their plans to move out of NYS.

I get it, as a 2A supporter living in NYS you are frustrated,,, I am frustrated,,, we are all frustrated.
3, 4, 5 years ago I have posted posts very similar to yours. But over time I have accepted the fact that
NY is NY and will always be NY... Nothing will change unless NYS and NYC separate.
And that will not happen in my lifetime, if ever.
When I move out of NYS. I will do it at high noon, with my head held high, knowing full well that I have made an intelligent decision for myself and my family and my wallet.
I hate the fact that I have no meaningful representation in Albany.
I hate the fact that my tax money is used for things that I strongly disagree with.
I hate living under FUAC with no chance of voting him out, and I don't have to.
I have options. And I would be a fool not to take advantage of those options.
I already told the wife that I have compromised with her for far to long. There will be more gun control laws coming and there is not a fucking thing that we can do about it. It is time to move back to South Carolina.

The only reason I am still here is (family stuff) the wife's family that is... So I get it.
My friend would like to move out of NYS but his kids are young, their grandma's and grandpa's are a big part
of the kids lives not to mention my friend has solid employment here. So right now it's not in the cards for him.
We all have different circumstances.
New York City and Albany dishes out big shit sandwiches and we all suffer in one way or another for it.

I rewrote this poem once; it starts with machine guns and ends with bolt actions and single shot pistols. Kind of in the same vein as the infamous cake cartoon.
We shouldn't have to move anywhere and I'll be damned if I am. I get why many have, and I don't fault them at all, not least because it was a net positive for them, which makes me happy.
But no. Not for me. Fuck no. This is my home, this is my property, this is (God help me) my state. I live just outside the edge of the city, and I work in it. I work (ed) too hard for my shit and no one is taking it. The entire rest of the state can and will collapse as a matter of course, but barring some global catastrophe, NYC will continue to generate gobs of cash- and nothing will change except NYC liberals will have even more control.
So run, by all means. Megalopolis (Boston-NYC-Philly-DC on down on the eastern seaboard, others will stretch their tendrils to you elsewhere) will eventually find you.
Sorry to rant but feeling a little down on this topic; I wish we'd wake up and realize we're not in great shape here, we're just temporarily, barely, in better shape than if Hillary had been elected.
