If you want a fine firearm from a good member and can afford it, by all means. I paid $300 for my sks, decent shape and was on my C&R. It depends how much you can afford and what youre willing to pay.

To an SKS novice, is this something I should not pass up? I have been interested in getting something in 7.62 and a rifle I share with my son when the time arises. I know little about them but am very intrigued.

Honestly, ive wanted a russian gun for a while in 7.62. I couldn't contemplate passing this up even if the price is a little steep for my budget. If these are everything he says it is, and they very well seem to be, i wouldnt pass this up, especially since we cant have full blown aks.

Hmm something does seem a little weird about this response.

Maybe your friend can get the SKS.
Then she could shoot your Mosin and his SKS at the same time.
