Hard to spend that coin without touching it first. I’ve never seen one. A local dealer is an STI dealer just not sure they will have one in stock.

I’ve never heard of a 5” Model 17-6. The book doesn’t mention it (but we know how that goes with S&W ).
Is there any chance that it was a longer barrel that was cut down or was it maybe a special order?
I’m intrigued.

Oops , my mistake. I just pulled it out of the safe because it’s been a while since I had it out. It’s a 17-5 with the heavy 4” barrel.

Well, let me play Paul Harvey and tell you “ The Rest of the story”
Haha When I bid on this 17-5 ( on GB) it was advertised as a 17-5 with the little seen 5” barrel. ( there is info. On it out there but scarce) anyhoo, I questioned it being a 5” barrel based on the photos but seller insisted it was. I decided to just ignore the remainder of the auction but I ended up being the high bidder and had won the gun. ( which is in pristine condition I might add)
I called them to talk about the barrel length issue and got the shop owner. It turned out that the jackoff that I was dealing with was “ let go” for mis representing there fire arms auctions and was offered my money back or a discount on the gun. Cha ching.
I took the discount and the rest is history ! Whew

P.S. yes , shooting .22 out of a S&W 4” k frame is a frigging HOOT ! For sure

I love my Glock 7! It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. It doesn't show up on your airport X-ray machines here and it costs more than what you make in a month!

1) Freedom Arms Model 83 in .475 Linebaugh. I like odd-ball calibers, I love revolvers, and I really like the idea of the .480 Ruger, which this one can also fire. I've also heard Freedom Arms' quality is impeccable. This is a "years down the road" thing.


2 tie) S&W 340 PD AirLite or Ruger LCR. Five rounds of .357 or .38 in a 12 or 17 oz package to drop in a pocket when I otherwise wouldn't carry anything. Either of these is #1 on the list. I probably won't start looking seriously until ammo becomes more available.

Very cool GP100. I love Gunblast and Jeff was an awesome firearm reviewer. I looked at the firearms of his they auctioned off when he passed, but I didn't like anything I could afford and couldn't afford anything I liked. Happy to see they made his tribute gun a .44 Special GP100.

Number 1 is the Staccato-P DPO optics ready 9mm. Badass, accurate, and did I say bad-ass!
2nd would be the Langdon Tactical Centurian with RDO. That's the full-size frame with the compact slide on it,,kinda 19Xish style.
3rd is new & old school tech, S&W revolver but 8 shot with a 4inch BBL.
Honorable mention would be a Colt 1911 Rail Gun or Competition model, also a Dan Wesson Specialist with the Black Kote finish.
