Gander Mountain Closing.. Amendment Pending

So I have an amendment pending for a pistol I bought at gander mountain.. how is this going to work if the store closes prior to the amendment getting returned..

I guess maybe I should go down there and see if they will ship the pistol to my FFL for free

many of the stores are closing but not all of them. it seems like the new owner is very accessible if you wish to ask him yourself:

I would assume you'd have to take possession of it or get a refund before the store closes. They may transfer it to another FFl for you. Go ask your right in that one.

Wouldn't even need to be an FFL technically, could be anyone with a permit from a county that doesn't make you wait ages for an amendment.

I doubt Gander would do that especially if the gun was paid for. They would consider it a straw purchase.

So everybody fill out a 4473, then they are covered no matter which of the 2 of you is really the purchaser...

I wonder if there is going to be gigantic sales! I could use some new fishing stuff lol. Their guns are pretty over priced. I bought my first glock 22 when I started doing armored car when I was 21. I didn't know much about gun stores and I had a rough run in with Rugers in Kingston. So I went to gander mountain. Big mistake. Gen 4 was out, but I bought a gen 3 because it was cheaper. Somehow I still paid like $650 lol. Now I refuse to shop at those stores and look for private dealers or order online.

My county has been in the news lately for a shit show the clerk caused with pistol permits..

That is the plan if they arent going to be open for a couple of weeks (which i expect they will).. But If they want to charge for shipping, ect.. It just kills any savings I have into the pistol.. At that point I would just do a chargeback with the credit card and purchase the pistol somewhere else..

Got an email yesterday that they were doing a store liquidation at every GM That means instead of 50% overpriced maybe just 25%, lol.

Wow so Orange is even worse than NYC? Bringing the handgun to 1PP sure sucks, but at least you walk out of the store with it on the spot and then have it on your permit after a quick inspection.

It was 2-3 weeks a couple months ago.. Now people are reporting 5-6 from drop off to recieved..

I'm surprised that Gander lasted this long. They wanted stupid prices for firearms. A Field and Stream opened just down the road from the Gander in Rochester about 2 years ago. They had just spent a couple $ million to redo the Gander firearm section to try and keep up, but no dice. I grabbed a couple bulk packs of .223 there yesterday on my way home from work.

not really.. I can get into one for $309 shipped (then $75 rebate brings it down to $235) .. then i have to figure in transfer.. If gander charges shipping it puts me way over that, im going to tell them to go scratch and either refund my money or deal with the credit card charge back

Holy hell, I haven't seen them that low. Who's got them for $309? I've been mostly seeing $400 - $450 for the .45 Shield.

Palmetto State Armory.. had them 299.99 + shipping ( I think was $10 )... toss the $75 rebate in that give you $235 before transfer fee..
