Gas key staking tool

So I'm putting the finishing touches on a couple of NY Fugly featureless builds for a friend. The DPMS kits that he bought came with the BCG in need of complete assembly. Everything is done except for staking the gas key screws. I installed them with red loctite for now just to get them up and functional, but he's planning to keep these and use them for, well, ever I guess. The Brownells gas key staking tool seems to be the best on the market, but is on backorder at the moment. I'd prefer not to field stake them. Wondering if anyone has the Brownells tool or an equivalent that I could rent/borrow in the Monroe County area. I'll drive a decent distance to pickup and drop off.

Don't need the tool. It is a scam.
What you need is a nice vise and a few pices of wood to center the key and locktite and a hardened steel punch.
if you don't have one buy a large masonry screw that is very hard steel and will cost you $1.
The key is to take your time and square everything nicely. I could describe the process here but you should
have dozens of refrences online and youtube.

No need to whack your thumb... well not if you're Mek anyway lol!!! Yeah I'm sure old school don't need no new fangled ways..

Whenever I get a new BCG, I always go over the staking marks with a center punch to make staking marks deeper. All of my first Bushmaster BCG's had the same problem with carrier key working loose after a year or so. Maybe this improved, maybe not, but I still follow that routine and never had one come loose.

Index tool to gas key screw with an Allen key through top hole, turn in screws on side until they bottom then tighten each one 1-1/4 turns. You can stake each side by reindexing gas key screw in second hole on top. Will get them in mail to you tomorrow.
