Girl killed in gang shooting that targeted wrong house

LAS VEGAS — Armed men intent on gang-related retaliation opened fire on the wrong house in suburban Las Vegas, killing an innocent 11-year-old girl in the kitchen, police said Friday.

A neighbor on his way to work saw the gunfire late Thursday on a quiet residential street and shot with his legally owned handgun at the car as it pulled away, wounding a 19-year-old passenger, North Las Vegas Assistant Police Chief Pamela Ojeda said.

Remember, "know" the laws of the land you travel to. As an example, Texas allows deadly force to protect property! And who says a fleeing car that's spraying bullets isn't a threat? You may be arrested but even in NY there is an exemption written in NY law allowing the use of deadly force to prevent a felon from fleeing. Police may not know it exists make sure you find a lawyer who is familiar with it. The whole you cant shoot a fleeing violent Felon is BS .. You can.

Most "civilian" exemptions are at the ass end of laws ... by design i'm sure, god forbid the people know they have the legal right to police themselves.
