Both Britain and the US I might add were generally supportive of the Nazis when they first came to power. They saw them as a bulwark against the Soviets in Russia. Churchill was perhaps the only one who openly decried the Nazis and told anyone and everyone who would listen to not appease Hitler because he would not stop until he conquered all of Europe. In the western part of Sullivan County there's a road called Fuhrer Road because so many of the people in that area in the 1930s supported Hitler and the Nazis and Fascism generally. There are other roads like that across the US because significant portions of the population were supportive of Hitler and Nazis. There were even American Fascist groups that would hold sold out rallies in Madison Square Garden. Charles Lindbergh, Henry Ford and William Randolph Hearst among many other prominent Americans were also pro-Nazi too.
I read about it, but never knew it was so widespread. This explains European politics that led up to the second world war and appeasement of Hitler. It was more than appeasement as many historians now believe.
Worthless do nothings that steel money from their populace. Anyone know what the "Royals" really do besides prance around in clown costumes saying "Look at me?" lol
