Darth, but wouldn't you rather have the finest, the trophy wife.
My friend has a trophy wife......Last Place !
My friend has a trophy wife......Last Place !
I guess Harbor freight is fine if you use it twice a year. Good for Apartment dwellers.
Thank you.Hickock 45.....the end all be all of firearms knowledge.
Please......
I can hurt myself on a Harbor Freight tool just as easily as I can on a Snap-On tool.
Saying you hurt yourself on a Snap-On tool just sounds cooler, which is why I have a Snap-On tool box full of overpriced tools in my shop.
Snap-On tool injuries impress the chicks...or so I'm told.
Thank you.
Now for the reason I mentioned it, millions of people DO take his opinion as sacrament. Right or wrong. So that won't go well for Glock.
Wether we agree or not.
I actually learned some stuff from his reviews. IE... Size differences between different pistols, differences between different generation models, the trigger resets on certain guns, the ability of a pistol calibered carbine to shoot at a distance, and many other things. His opinions I take with a grain of salt though because in the end, what works for him, will not work for me on all things.Chuck D , you have to omit, he is a good shot.
To me his videos are more about how good a shot he is than about him passing on some valuable information.
Well he isn't the end all. Most serious people subscribe to many reviewers and get opinions from all angles before they purchase something. He's entitled to.hus opinion but there are more than a few industry professionals I trust over a guy who puts on a carnival side show in his backyard.
How could I possibly know the trigger resets on brand new guns I've never touched?Willjr75, having so much experience with firearms I would of surely thought you would of known all of that.
Now you've done it twice, but I'm not sure you're picking up what I am putting down.Hickock 45....the guy who post videos about how best to shoot pumpkins.
A true industry leader and consummate professional.....pumpkin killer.
Did you shoot them? Did you see how they ejected with different types of ammo? Did you try Gen 3 and 4 magazines in them? How about Pmags? Who cares about the pumpkins. I don't care about that either. I skip over that and focus on the relevant parts that I cannot experience unless I spend 600 bucks."Had my hands on a 17 and 19, they seemed decent to me.
After all, they're not custom 1911's. No worse than any 4th Gen I've purchased although the finish wasn't as dark blackish as the previous Generations."
Does this count as a fact, seeing I've had my hands on a couple of them ?
"I've seen 3, 2 17's and a 19. What I noticed was no slide/frame fit problems but there were some sharp edges on the mag release button itself and the magazine cutout on the front strap of the frame.
The finish wasn't as "deep" or "dark black" as the previous versions and it seemed to collect fingerprints rather easily.
All in all what I'd expected....certainly not "perfection" but not an Hi-Point either.
For what its worth, some of the same criticisms were levied at the Gen 4, especially how it ejected fired shell casings into your forehead, the lack of reliability in the new dual spring recoil system and some even labeled the replaceable back strap system as unnecessary.
I've bought Gen 3's that when I got home with simple finger pressure the rear sight would fall out of the dovetail. Mattered not...they were going to be replaced anyway. In comparison, I've never bought an entry level 1911 that didn't need 'smithing before it would be reliable enough to shoot it in a match or carry it in a holster so I'm used to having to "correct" poor factory QC anyway.
Not certain if I'll buy one of the 1st ones out. Most likely to wait 6 months and pick-up a G19 for the hell of it. I like the finger grooves but it would be cool to have one without just to have one."
How about this ... an expansion of my OP where I go into a little more detail and tie in my in-person observations with my opinion ?
"It seems that whenever Glock markets a new Generation, there is a vocal component of its customer base bitching about something."
Most relevant fact I could have EVER offered.
I have NO idea why just about every post on this forum has to degrade into a pissing contest but they do.
I have ZERO interest in listening to a guy who sets up a carnival side shoot in his backyard, includes "pumpkin killing" videos on YouTube and self proclaims to be an expert in firearm evaluation. If the info he provides is suitable to some....God Bless you, follow the path wherever it leads you. For me, I got off my ass and away from the computer, got into my car, stopped at DD to p/u a half dozen coffees and a dozen waist expanding doughnuts, drove over to my local firearms wholesaler and took 3 Gen 5's out of the box, took 'em apart, and looked them over.
They're NOT the best mouse trap Glock has ever designed and marketed but they're not drywall hammers either.
First hand observations Sir....not second hand opinions.
No pumpkins were harmed on that day either....which is good.
What are you talking about dude?Read my post. Actually READ it then you MAY be able to answer some of your own questions but for the benefit of the discussion and to feed your inner troll I'll do the best I can.
Did I shoot them...yup. Loaded up a series of mags, walked out into the back warehouse and let loose. Backstop be damned.
Do you recall me posting that I was at a WHOLESALER NOT A FIRING RANGE ?
The pistols came with the appropriate magazines. I would expect Gen 3 and Gen 4 design magazines would work as well even though they have a slightly different base pad (extended at the front). Your magazine questions are non-starters and thrown into the conversation as "filler."
P-Mags ? I never mentioned P-Mags and to the best of my recollection neither did anyone else, of which by the way they are illegal in NYS because no P-Mag configuration is available from Magpul in 10 round only capacity. More "conversation filler" thrown into the mix for smoke and mirror effect.
I'll shoot one when I buy one in about 6 months or so when Glock works out any bugs the Gen 5 may be experiencing. $600.00 for a gun (not that I'd pay full retail for one anyway but for the sake of argument lets say I did) isn't a big deal to me. I've spent more than that on a 52*, 56* and 60* set of lofted wedges currently in my golf bag.
Why do you even bother responding to anything I post ? All you EVER look for is an opportunity to argue with me or someone else. Stick to Hickock 45 for the latest on firearms related news and reviews and how to slay produce. All I attempted to do in this thread is share my observations of what I've seen and handled first hand.
If I am to believe what some say...Hickock 45 knows more about the Gen 5 Glock than the FBI which is the agency the firearm was designed for AND they adopted it.
No good deed goes unpunished.
Yes. That's being a man about it. Crude? Haha!I've never ignored a poster in my life until I've come on here. You're as crude as they come.
You are the 2nd "genius" here to get the ignore treatment.
You need to get your own intellectual house in order before you give me advice.
