Just did a few simple upgrades to my Glock 34 Gen5 recently.

Wilson Combat Match Grade Barrel (required filing and minor lathing work to make it fit)
Timney Alpha 2.5 lb trigger
Zev Combat Tritium Sights
Strike Industries Mag Well
Strike Industries Weighted Mag Plates

Gonna get the frame stippled, grooves cut into the trigger guard and some scallops in the front part of the slide for press checks.

Of course I am, I'm thinking a Swampfox Kingslayer. It shares the same footprint as the Trijicon RMR.

Get a quality optic. If this is a competition gun the SRO is the only way to go. If it's a carry gun there are a lot of good choices today. Something with a closed emitter would be my preference.

Swampfox makes a damned good optic. I have one on my Hellcat.

I can also get a Holosun which I have on my Glock 31 and X5 Legion.

For what is does and the price point against an overpriced Trijicon? Yes, thats a damned good optic to me.

Not exactly. Look at the data from the USPSA from some of the major matches and I think you'll find there are other quality options out there, in addition to just the SRO.

Yes C-more and Sig are used more but does that really make them better? The SRO is the way to go.

Edit: And when you only consider carry optics division the SRO is the number one optic.

I'd just recommend a better optic plate.

Based on that last photo I would bet good money that the oem one won't last very long

Oh yes..

Best out there would be

Forward Controls Design's.

Tango downs also makes 1 or 2 plates (footprint)

And a few other companies are coming out on the market with options..

There is another company I won't say which that others may suggest and that's on them I won't do it.


But the glock MOS adapter plate is actually trash. And I know I use that term alot, but in this case it really is and I can already see in the photo the gaps from a not perfectly flat plate, this will cause excess stress on your mounting screws and at some point you are going to be taking an optic to the face

Other amazing option (most expensive) is send it to Agency Arms and they can do their AOS cut over the MOS.

Their multi optic mounting system is vastly superior to Glocks.. and gives you the option to swap between irons forward and irons rear and any optic they make a plate for

Wow, the Forward Control designs plate is $71?? I would have never thought a plate for an optic would cost that much.

I definitely see the advantages of it having a front and rear fence for more stability but, damn it's expensive. Perhaps i'll get one after I get my slide cut and scalloped first.

Well, I guess I won't be needing the slide plates any longer.

I picked up a Legion Precision slide. They are one of the few companies who make slides for the 34 Gen 5. I got it cut with a Trijicon foot print.

Unfortunately the tolerances on the slide are slightly tighter so I will have to sand down the Wilson Combat Match Grade Barrel some more to make it fit.

With the window cut in the top of the slide I'm thinking of having the barrel ported.

Next up... stippling.

Used some tap oil and sandpaper and got it done. Barrel fit nicely in the slide. I'm thinking about sending the complete slide out to Mag-na Port to put ports in the top of the barrel.

Is it not a good idea?? I just figured since we cannot have threaded barrels for compensators.
