Gun Owners of America (GOA) just announced plans for what it’s calling the “One Big Beautiful Lawsuit” to tear down the NFA’s remaining registration mandates.

It would be nice but it won’t happen. We could have more machine guns made and make them more affordable.

There is not a Politician who likes MG's Pistols, silencers SBR's, AR's etc etc.

SCOTUS upheld the ban on ghost Guns.........so that ban states like NYS were ok.
Scotus refused to hear Snopes...........a pocket veto of sorts, upholding AW ban states like NYS.

If SCOTUS ruled that the NFA was illegal on a tax basis, it would open up the door...........SCOTUS will likely never hear the case...................another pocket Veto.

A danger exists............the 2nd is an amendment, just like Prohibition.............it can be changed by a new amendment, requiring restrictions on ownership-- only for sporting purposes and no AW's.
Once the politicians are aggravated enough by us they will do it.

Maybe, but maybe not. Who's going to buy a suppressor for a firearm they don't own? NY might just say, "Hmmmm. They might not have to go through NFA anymore, but we can make them have to register them per a state law. Then we have another veiled illegal registry.". Never trust those who would deny freedom in the first place.

I guess I am not following you. NY has a State ban on most NFA items, that will not change regardless of what the Fed does. The only direction NY will go is doubling down on the infringements, they will make them even more illegal to jam up someone visiting that does not know better.

Uh....... This is all hypothetical. It's all it ever is, so that's where I drew my comment from. Fantasy. BUT!....
So over here we have NY. The second most unfriendly gun state. They like to make laws to keep an eye on us law-abiding citizens even if those laws are not legal, like the ammo registry. It would not surprise me (and shouldn't anyone else either) if they lifted said bans and passed a law that you would have to register the suppressor or get a permit, like the new semi auto rifle license. Going that route would create a new illegal registry because people who decided to buy a suppressor would need a permit. Never underestimate the left anti-gun agenda. They aren't as dumb as they seem. They lie about facts, yes, but they aren't entirely stupid, and if it would help their cause they would do it.
Different topic, but fits what I'm saying. The full inclusion crossbow bill. DB touted she was all for this, yet now that it passed everything but getting her signature, she's going to let it sit there to get a veto by default. They lie, but aren't always dumb.

But I singled this out for a purpose. With a majority of States now recognizing Constitutional Carry, I would argue your view is colored by your locale (NY).

There's not a snowball chance in hell any amendment curbing 2A Rights would succeed today! None! Despite what the media would have you believe!

Suppressors are not attached to firearms, their filed by caliber! And you can swap them among firearms with the same caliber... So yes, you can and do actually buy suppressors for "firearms" you don't own. Especially some have tolerance across calibers although it impacts the performance (suppression).

And just to be clear, NY will never allow relaxation of their MALFEASANCE towards 2A! Period! Obvious in the aftermath of the Bruen Ruling!
