Going to look at a used Travel Trailer

Anybody have a Travel Trailer experience?
Going to look at a used 28 footer for a Deer Camp trailer.
It won't be permanent, will have to move it once or twice a year.
Looking for costs of Registration - Insurance - etc.
And what should I look for. Roof leaks - wheel bearings etc.

I wish I had some numbers for you but I don't at the moment. Insurance and registration isn't too bad. I normally register my camper a month before I intent to use it, it is cheaper than paying for a whole year. Check the ceiling and floor for damage, especially near the walls. Also push on the walls to make sure they are solid. My buddy picked up a used travel trailer once and he had a large portion of his walls rotted. I would bring a grease gun with you, the travel trailer might have grease fitting already for the bearings. If not they will need to be gone over and packed with grease.

I have a 30' Jayco Jayflight BHS. Cost me $125 A year for insurance. Registration varies, I don't remember what I paid in NY. Check the rubber roof linning, floors for soft spots, axles for bends, and check in the underside has a thermo barrier which protects the whole underside. Not all have it, and it's ok if it doesn't. Also check the heat and A/C, and fuse box. Make sure nothing has got in there and chewed it up. I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Check that critters haven't chewed through the place. That is probably the #1 thing people miss when looking at used trailers. Definitely run the blower on the furnace and a/c to see if anything nasty comes out of the supply vents. Pay REALLY close attention to any odors coming from the ducts.

Well, after checking out 3 campers with the wife, she found one on Craigslist and we pulled the trailer. It is a 2011 Jay Feather BH that is turn key. It has a ton of add ons, a bunch of cast iron cooking items silver ware a toaster, everything you would have to buy if you bought a new camper. I wanted a deer camp trailer, now it looks like we are going to enter the world of RVing. Not only all the bedding but two sleeping bags too. Now, when it comes to black water - gray water etc. is am a dipshit and have a lot to learn.
