Was asked repeatedly to get out of the car (which was stolen), argued, refused, then decided to drive away and hit the cop with the car. Even barring the fact he had a gun (maybe it was legal), why didn't he just get out of the car? If he didnt do anything illegal, what would be the harm in complying. All good, nothing wrong, have a good day.

Complying for doing nothing illegal at police gunpoint, basically the threat of death is tyranny ... that is whats wrong with just blindly complying, Its not the citizens duty to bend over when ever government tells you to. Government should be minding their dam business if a crime is not being committed.

In this situation obvious a crime was involved. expecting a criminal to comply is a joke, not following rules is what criminals do. Now we get into was the deadly force required. Be nice if we had video of everything but it appeared the cop was on the side of the car, cops starts shooting jumps in front of the car while simultaneously shooting. Claiming self defense is flat out BS. He initially used deadly force to gain compliance not to protect himself.

Terrible shoot, cop had total disregard for his safety or the passengers safety.

The cop seems to have lost control of the situation and was at a loss as to how to regain control, and that's why the guy decided he could drive away. WTH is this hold the gun sideways BS? Just because it came that way in the box doesn't mean you hold it that way!

If the perp was pointing a gun at him as he was driving away at 1 mph, the shoot was good.

If the perp was not pointing the gun, it was a bad shoot. He could have been followed or blocked with the other car. You can't outrun a radio.

All I can say is he was hit by the car and it was at a slow speed. Who know what’s in the guys mind. Does he slam on the breaks to get the cop to fly off the hood then run him over. I’d say the cops life was in danger.

Agree, driver pointing guns at a traffic stop is no bueno. But the cop never said anything about a gun in the audio.

The cop was walking backwards along side of the car started shooting then got in front of the car that when it appears he was "Hit". He used his gun as tool for compliance not defense ...

Always so hard to play Monday morning quarterback just from looking at a video like this. It looks like the cop stepped in front of the slowly moving vehicle when he unloaded. Cop didn't know the guy had a gun until after he shot him.

Its just a car. Youve got him dead to rights. Let him go. Stick a tracker on the car, pick it up. When he dumps it. Then arrest him. No matter how big a dick the guy is, is it worth killing him?

I say no.

My dads a cop and years ago two kids were standing outside of a local gun store to rob it. He stopped and spoke with the kids becausenit was like 2am. The kid reached for something in his waisteband and my dad tackled him. It was a BB gun. Certainly my dad could have shot him but he has mentioned it many times over his career that he was glad he didn’t shoot him.

Great statement that not everything is black and white. It’s a hard job with split second decisions that could mean life or death.
