Dr. Evil
20×102mm Vulcan
"What do you want?"
"Change!"
"Specifically, what kind of change?"
"We're not sure!"
"Are you aware that existing law should have prevented Florida's mass shooting from happening? Did you know the FBI had actionable intel on January 5th that the accused was planning his evil, but the Feds ignored it?"
"Well, let's not blame the FBI. We need new laws."
"Is heroin legal?"
"No!"
"So, it is against the law to get heroin but kids are still obtaining it? How many classmates are dying from heroin, which you aren't allowed to legally buy?"
"But it's not caused by the NRA! And the NRA runs the government!"
"So, If you care about kids' safety, what do you think of abortion on demand? Will you protest at abortion clinics? Some of those places even sell baby parts! Millions of babies, including many minority children are butchered there under a 'right' that isn't in our Constitution?"
"That is a choice! And you're a bigot-sexist!"
Pretty much sums up my thoughts on today's statements.
And by the way, can the right-wing lunatic fringe PLEASE quit talking about "crisis actors" and "false flag" attacks? They are becoming as predictable as The Lunatic Left and calls for "common sense" gun control, references to Australia and "weapons of war."
Most Americans haven't cared about Australia since Men at Work introduced us to Vegemite, which by the way is made from ass. Well, that is my opinion.
Look, a hallmark of sound mental health is the ability to have empathy, and I have a great deal for these young people.
I see my old classmates in so many of you.
But your tender age and unimaginable trauma is not an impenetrable shield to be used against rational arguments.
I too have lost people suddenly, and in some cases, violently.
Like the late Billy Graham, I do not have an answer for why His will often seems so terrible, and doubt I will ever have that understanding. I pray for the wisdom and grace to handle bad sh**.
I do feel your pain, and probably would have been as uninformed and non-circumspect as you are being had this happened at my high school.
Hell, I had some really dumb opinions as a teenager, but had no platform (thank God) to promulgate them.
But the irrationality, such as chanting "Hands up, don't shoot!" is driving me up a wall.
That fraudulent chant is based on a myth from the Ferguson, MO shooting of the not-so-gentle giant Michael Brown.
A police officer's career was ended, based on a lie.
THAT was tragic.
While I applaud Broward SD for their response to the school massacre (they were brave, heroic and complete pros) , they had earlier f****d up by not putting the accused on the "list" before despite DV and animal cruelty calls, among other red flags.
And the FBI REALLY f**** up (again) by ignoring credible, actionable intel on January 5.
So not one new law would have prevented a psycho from doing psycho stuff.
I love you, but I hope that as you mature you can be more rational and less emotional.
Our Founding Father's put the 2nd Amendment in the Bill of Rights.
They were smart dudes.
God bless and heal you, and grant you wisdom to understand how something so horrible could have happened to such good people.
