Just another gun manufacturer leaving a liberal state is all. I have a couple Henrys produced in Brooklyn NY. Crazy how at one time guns were made in NYC. My have times changed.

I love Henry, whether they were made in Bayonne or the new ones that will be made in Wisconsin.

when I was looking for a 45-70, I R E A L L Y wanted a Henry All-weather rifle. But at the time all they were offering was the tube fed model, I absolutely despise, tube fed anything ( including 22's )
But now that they have a side gate model, Im thinking of selling a few guns to get a all-weather Henry.....45-70.

A few years ago I won a Henry 45-70 at a Rod & Gun raffle. The year before, I won a Henry 44 magnum.when I was looking for a 45-70, I R E A L L Y wanted a Henry All-weather rifle. But now that they have a side gate model, Im thinking of selling a few guns to get a all-weather Henry.....45-70.
Neither are All Weather models, but the bluing is top notch, ive had zero issues even using them in rain and snow. Of course I would love an AW model.
I used the 44 mag to take a doe this last season. The gun was in the snow, wet and blood for hours, but cleaned up looking new.

Henry has been building riles in Wisconsin for awhile now. I have a couple made there.
I can understand Henry moving out of New Jersey, but Wisconsin?
Van Tassel's stocks and sells quite a few of the big bore lever guns...I think we sold three or four at Syracuse...to me they're kind of expensive, but anymore what isn't?

I may get some hate for this, but the Henry's I've looked at fit and finish wise weren't as nice as the 1970s-1990s JM Marlins I've owned/own. I think in general, right now, lever guns are an upper class niche.
It used to be a working mans rifle too, the lever gun. Now, that honor goes to the $500 ar or the $350 bolt gun. I am old enough to remember when a JM marlin was $89 on sale at k Mart or James way. I guess just silly old memories now.

The Watervliet Arsenal is still cranking out artillery matériel, since 1812. Nobody older. Even NYS can’t beat em.
