Sweet. One of my employees got me a Traditions Trapper .50 cal flintlock pistol kit for my birthday today. I'm super excited to start this project.

I want to do some nice etching with a dremel on it and fill it up with colored resin and put some inlays in it.
Sweet.
Can't wait to see the build thread on it (hint hint)![]()
Mechanically it may be simple, but the artistry in finishing it could be very interesting. There's really nothing to build. ![]()
Nice, but I don't see a flintlock.
It looks like a percussion lock gun to me.
Still nice.
Happy birthday RTK!!! My gift to you: Keep the Dremel and colored resin's away from that project!!!!

Have you seen any of @Robin work? Master craftsman. Why? Just opinion of aesthetics or does it mess with stability?

When it comes to these guns I am very much a traditionalist RTK. I have no idea what you must have in mind with that tool and those resins, but it is your to do with as you please and most of all you great fun in what ever you decide to do. They are a hoot to shoot!!!!!Why? Just opinion of aesthetics or does it mess with stability?
This is true, but they go a lot farther.Shooting components are just about as hard to find for that as center fire if you want to shoot
