Got off my ass and shot my bow today

Sweet. I am going to have to break out my bow and start shooting now. Haven't had my Bowtec out of the case in 5 years. Haven't had my cross bow out in a few years either.
Legend has it Robin Hood has done it
This year I've put more practice in that prior years, way more. I am shooting better than ever and I really don't even have that great of a set up. I think after next season I'll drop some cash on real nice bow. That would give me 3 years with this one.

You DON"T need high tech, or big $$$ for a bow to take Deer. Been there done that in over 30+ years bow hunting. Taken so many Deer with bow I can't even remember most of them. Sold all my high tech Hoyts for cash I needed and bought cheap Hoyt that takes Deer every year. It AIN"T in the bow..... It's in YOU .....

I am so behind this year on practice. Will only have about two weeks of strong practice but I finished last year awesome so it should be ok I hope...

In past 5 years I gone from $1000.00 Hoyt carbon bows and everything in between I sold, down to a cheap Craigslist used Hoyt bow of $250.00 LOL.... Takes deer at same distance range and about same speed... And more simple, easier, faster, to use, handle ....
I was considering a used Hoyt maybe from EBAY. Which models hold up best to use? Any difference?

All of them my opinion... I'm using a old Powertec Hoyt. Not saying you need a Hoyt, That is just MY GO TO BRAND....
I keep forgetting to update this thread.
I changed my anchor point yesterday and man did it make a difference! I'm using the very back of my jaw now. Much more consistent than using my nose as I had been previously.
I got new contacts today also which I really hope are going to help me at the longer distances.

Meh, I change my anchor point every arrow.
I lost an 8 pointer last year due to a bad shot. I'm not messing around anymore. I take my archery even more serious than my handgun shooting now.
Bow shooting is a perishable skill

Well if your still a LEO? I would be taking the gun more serious LOL...... But with that aside - if your hunting Deer with bow from a tree stand, you should be target shooting bow in yard from a stand, NOT FROM GROUND SHOOTING PRACTICE.

I can draw my bow! It's still tougher than it was last year but I'm definitely consistent enough to make clean kills out to 30 yards. Hits are a couple inches right but I'll tweak the sights if it keeps up tonight.
