I'm starting to think the bail reform thing is an attempt to *increase* crime, so that they can grab more power to "solve" the problem.
If they actually reduced crime significantly they would have a much harder time justifying their power grabs. That's why they constantly hammer the "gun violence epidemic" point, even though the rate of "gun violence" is half what it was a few decades ago.

I, for one, am glad they are strengthening the gun laws in New York. Clearly, we have been given far too much freedom that it requires restrictions. Good thing we do not already have something of this caliber in place so they have fresh ideas to bring to the table.
