There should just be one season. The whole (and only valid) reason for seasons for hunting is to manage the harvest and thus the population.My issue is that xbows are shooting 1" groups at 100 yards. They are much more accurate than the days of us hunting with smoothbore shotguns with slugs. Bow season is incredibly long. So, for us rifle and muzzle loader hunters we get the leftover, wounded, and spooked deer. Only in the Northern tier is there an early season for black powder, but it's only for one week. Southern tier offers up the very last week to muzzle loading.
The deer population isn't affected one iota by the method used to harvest a deer. The population dynamics are identical if you have to jump on it's back and stab it as if you used a claymore and blew it to bits.
The idea that some methods should get a head start to be "more fair" is foreign to the purpose of hunting seasons.
