This law now makes it that even the school cant give someone (aka teachers) permission to carry if they felt that's what they wanted to do
I didn't either until I was taking some college classes and wanted to see if suny schools fell under the whole gun free school shit and saw that schools are gun free unless the person was given permission.

The thing I always worry about is, there is a main road that runs right through the SUNY Geneseo campus. Splits the Dorms from the academic buildings.

You'd think that, but I'm not sure the law supports it.
Geneseo is a pretty reasonable place to live, but I hate relying on cops and courts to be reasonable in their interpretation.
I prefer the limits are spelled out explicitly.
Otherwise you are only one unreasonable officer or bad day from having a very rough time of it yourself.

You could technically carry on school grounds before with permission from the school superintendent. Good luck getting it but armed guards had that. This is stupid and our schools will be sitting ducks. Other states around us will arm teachers.
