why use a holster in a lock box?
To cover the trigger of a loaded gun

But its in a locked box,why the need to cover the trigger?
Idk maybe incase it's the middle of the night and you reach into the lock box to grab a loaded gun with an exposed trigger?? Or grab one that has the trigger safely covered

Ok,to each his own.But for me, if I'm reaching for a loaded gun in the middle of the night,I dont want the trigger covered with anything but my finger.
A smart man would attach a line to the holster so when the pistol is pulled the holster would be released.
Why would you cover the trigger with your finger as you grab it...
Shouldn't you oh idk keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot?
Hopefully you don't have kids or a significant others in the house, sounds like a good way to accidentally shoot someone..
But to each their own??

Well after 30 yrs in LE and having guns my whole life,I automatically pick up a gun with my finger on the slide.The only reason for reaching for a gun in the middle of the night is because there is a serious threat,if you want to fumble with a holster thats your business.Or do you just not trust yourself to properly pick up a gun.And yes,I raised two sons,neither has ever been in danger of me shooting them.

I can already tell you 1 probably didn't even look at this product and 2 don't even understand how one would use it in conjunction with a lock box

Sorry @71velle I was hoping that this solid equipment post was going to get a better response
Both for the holster as a holster for times when people need/want something minimalistic
Or maybe some critical thinking for other uses if not in the market for a minimalist holster

Not the case at all, just pointing out I'm familiar with handling a gun.And putting a gun in a lock box and a holster makes no sense.

No apology needed... It may not be useful for everyone, and thats ok. I posted because it was a great deal, I paid a lot more for mine. It is a high quality piece, and if the post saved someone a few bucks great!!!
the glock is a great pistol, but without an external safety I personally dont like out with the trigger uncovered. For example when I am spending a lot of time in a car I dont think a pistol at 3-4 o'clock behind a seatbelt is very useful.
At the end of the day its main purpose is for appendix carry and it does that well too. When my weight is up I will only use it when mostly standing tho. That not an issue with the holster, but a diet problem.
So I guess my over decade in LE and keeping firearms in lockboxes in Raven holsters seems dopey to you.
I'll change my ways now oh bie Wan Kenobi.

At some point we need to accept the there is more than one way to have a firearm stored. IMO everyone in this thread has a good system!!
I do not use a lock box often, but when I do I do not use a trigger guard. The box is the trigger guard, but if some one wants to use both great!! My thinking is that when I take the pistol out of the box its no different than taking a pistol out of a holster. I accept that others may have a different system that they have thought through. Also, someone else might do things with their guns that I dont making my plan not good for them.
That said any loaded pistol in my safe is in a holster, and I never put a loaded gun in the safe that is not in a holster. IMO this is the safest way for me to use my system. I do this for a few reasons;
When I go into the safe I can not pick up a loaded pistol with an uncovered trigger, (of course I check and clear while pointed into the safe) Before any unloaded pistol goes into the safe it is checked and dry fired, that way when removed the next time I can visually see the trigger is back.
Loaded pistols are alway in a holster for a couple of reasons
Again, I wont be able to pick up a loaded pistol with an uncovered trigger.
I dont like to handle loaded pistol that have an uncovered trigger anymore than I have to. So when I carry I can take the loaded holstered pistol out of the safe and then attach the whole system to me with the trigger covered. When returning it to the safe same thing the holstered system comes off me with the trigger covered and into the safe.
I never ever store an unloaded pistol with a magazine in it.
