I realize this video was created by Fort Scott Munitions themselves. It intrigues me nevertheless since I'm all about penetration and frying pans and such. It's a solid brass non expanding bullet.

If you're going to spend a dollar per round you might as well get Hornady TAP GMX 70gr. True barrier blind, solid copper alloy, low flash powder, proven manufacturer, same cost.

Either a cartrdge has more penetration with less tissue damage, or, less penetration with more tissue damage. Cannot have both, given the same cartridge and assuming modern engineering. Conservation of energy would hold.

This would be a penetrator. It wouldn't be so much a terminal effect round. It would fill the role of shooting through things. For example, mud huts in Afghanistan. Penetrator rounds fragmented upon impact of those mud bricks. A copper hollow point wouldn't fragment but would probably expand in the mud. This solid brass round would stay together and pinhole through.

I'm no expert. I'm just using basic physics for my conclusion unless my thought process is totally wrong.

It will depend just how reliably it tumbles, or not. If it tumbles 75% of the time then it will penetrate 25% of the time, don't you think? Those Hornady GMX TAP in 5.56 or .308 don't seem prone to tumble apparently.

We would have to test it. Unfortunately, I have no time or place to do it. All they do online is shoot gel.

Just noticed this thread and thought I'd help. Our ammunition is designed to Tumble in soft tissue. It will penetrate barriers and tumble through a water-based tissue.
If you have an assailant behind a mud-brick house, this round will punch through the brick with ease. It's not a hollowpoint so it will not lose the energy from "opening up". It will then enter the body and begin the TUI. At that point, it will exit the body with significantly reduced energy.
So the mentioned idea on percentages of tumble and penetration is flawed because our round does not begin to tumble until it meets water-based tissue. And of course, if it is deflected by an extremely hard surface.
Hopefully that helps clear up some confusion.
