Never thought I'd ever go for a pistol permit but I suddenly developed an interest an taking up shooting as a hobby. So, after about four months, received my permit and ready to hit the range(s). Hope to get to know you fine folks as time goes on and to further my education in regards to firearms as a member of this community.

You got a Westchester permit in four months? Nice. It took me a year and a half in Putnam, which is a way more gun friendly county. Eother way, congrats and welcome!

Yeah, the most time consuming part of the process was the paperwork and character testimonies. It was a pleasant surprise receiving that approval letter so soon.

Concealed carry but it's just for Sport Target Shoot. I remember the NRA instructor explicitly telling the class not to mark "premise."

From attending the NRA safety course hosted by Blue Line to receiving the approval letter from the Clerks's office - 4 months. I was surprised too. Who knows, maybe the mid term elections had something to do with paperwork being pushed forward? Either way, I'm going to make the most of my new hobby!
